The Marinecraft model yachts are particularly interesting. Given the poor quality of electric batteries at the time, yachts were a more attractive model, and there were many ready-to-sail examples available. At the competition end of the market, there were many plans available. But there were few simple kits suitable for beginners, which is what these were. The boats featured bread-and-butter balsa hulls, which were very easy to carve or sand smooth. Though they look attractive, I have never seen either an original kit or a finished example today.
